Over the years, many people helped to care for her ever-expanding needs. We can't thank enough the nurses, doctors, healthcare workers, and caregivers that treated her like she was their own.
Much love to Mariana, Karen, Teresa, Cindy, Kari, Puja, Tyler, Carla, Deb, Necie, Roxanne, Chris and so many more.
Special thanks to Maxim, Ridgeline and George Mark Children's House for providing a safe place for respite.

Haven fell asleep in death on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
When she passed, she was not feeling any pain or suffering and was being held in the arms of both her parents.
We can't wait to see her again

Things you might not know about Haven...
Haven met Gary Breaux and Anthony Griffin.
She's been to Disneyland many times and has been on Dumbo, Pirates, Astro Orbiters, and the Jungle Cruise.
She loved Hawaii especially the warm weather and water.
She's been camping, ice skating, roller skating, on family bike rides, and has met the San Francisco Giants.

Haven enjoyed playing with her dad. He would arm wrestle with her which would often make her laugh.

Haven loved being pampered. Mom would provide spa days where she would give her massages and braid Haven's hair.

Many people spend a lot of time wondering - wondering where they fit in, wondering what they should do, wondering what is their purpose.
Some people find the answers to their questions and some people search their entires lives without finding peace in there time here.
I was fortunate enough to spend time with Haven. And she, probably without knowing, gave the people around her, a glimpse of what the answers to many of their questions might be.
Haven was strong - even on her toughest, most challenging days, she may not have even considered if she fit in, because she always did. She had the most engaging facial expressions. Her smiles were beyond measure and her frowns or looks of distress were heartbreaking, but shared what she was experiencing.
People were drawn to Haven. And at school, we wanted her to experience everything she could, because Haven probably didn’t wonder what should she could do - she just wanted to do it all! Music and moving about and hearing stories and just being there seemed to bring her true joy.
Which leads me to what was Haven’s purpose here? Obviously that is not an answer I am in charge of. I can say, Haven made other people want to be better. A better friend, a better caregiver, a better teacher.
Haven lived a life where she had to trust others and those that she had to trust wanted to earn her trust - we wanted to be the best version of ourselves because Haven was the best role model. We didn’t want to disappoint her because she was a blessing to be near.
The world is not as joyful without her. And because of the love and respect we have for her, we should always help people fit in, support them in doing good work, and try to make this world a more beautiful place - the way Haven did. 🧡
Haven's High School Teacher

She loved bumpy rides in the van and bumpy rides down the sidewalk in her wheelchair or bike trailer.
Haven interacted with her world mostly by sight and touch and loved loud music and people moving in front of her.
Dad would put her in front of the speakers and crank up the music which she loved.

When Haven was born, she sounded like a little bird.
As a baby, she loved warm baths, Trader Joe's yogurt, chocolate, and of course ice cream.
She was constantly surrounded by family and friends that loved her immensely.

Haven was born deaf and was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disease called partial monosomy 13Q deletion. She also had semi-lobar holoprosencephaly.
This affected her motor skills, thinking ability, and many of her core functions.

Haven was born on December 5, 2003 in San Francisco, California.
